Spring is around the corner and the signs of it sprawl all over the place. A veritable explosion of colours brings hope and joy as the tiny buds and flowers spring to life. The Blue Tits gather moss from trees and rooftops to build their nests; the starlings collect their nest material from fir trees, and the pigeons collect one twig at a time from everywhere. I even witness a fight between two Blue Tits for a nest box on a tree. Birds and critters make the most of the new life: buds, fruits and flowers, as they get ready for a new breeding season.
I raise my binoculars to examine the treetops. The number of birds fluttering makes it hard for me to bring it down until my arms hurt. The tiny lakes are a hive of activity resounding with the cackles of water birds.
As the harsh winter takes leave and makes way for spring, connecting with nature becomes much more delightful. My daily walks are now much slower, longer and gratifying as I stand and smell the proverbial roses.
I’ve gradually realised every season is beautiful in its own right. I learnt to appreciate and pay closer attention to all the changes taking place with each passing season.
Coming to think of it, it all started with my first autumn experience in Germany. I was overawed with colours of the leaf litter in parks and streets so much so that I even chased autumn colours everywhere I went. And then I moved up a level from chasing colours to chasing seasons, observing and capturing the tiny details that catch my fancy.

I’m thoroughly enjoying my new found love for seasons among other things and hope to learn and continue to share my joy.
Here are some flowers and fruits I captured while connecting with nature as the spring kicked off.
